Like the number of international students coming to the US, the number of US students studying abroad continues to increase. The latest “Open Doors” report shows that there was a 1.3 percent increase in the number of students who studied abroad in the 2010/2011 year when compared to the 2009/2010 year. There was a total of 273,996 US students that studied abroad. Of this number, 33,182 students decided to study in the United Kingdom. This makes the UK the leading destination for students to study abroad.
