Student Travel Insurance

Whether you are planning to study abroad or take a vacation to a foreign country, you will need to prepare beyond your Lonely Planet guide. One important preparation is to make sure you have adequate student travel insurance that will cover you while you are away. There are many student travel medical insurance plans that you can choose depending on the type of coverage you are interested in.

One of the most popular travel medical insurance plan available is the Atlas Travel Medical Insurance plan. This plan is designed to provide coverage outside your home country for inpatient and outpatient services, prescription drugs, emergency medical evacuation, repatriation, doctor office visits, and much more… This plan allows you to choose your maximum coverage limit (from $50,000 to $1,000,000) and your deductible (from $0 to $2,500).

If you have travel and health coverage, another option would be a Trip Cancellation Insurance plan that would cover you in case the unexpected happens and you need to cancel your trip. It offers trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical evacuation, repatriation of mortal remains, accidental death and dismemberment, and other incidental coverage and services for persons traveling outside their home country.  The cost for the plan is determined on the total cost of the trip itself.

If you have have health insurance coverage abroad already and need supplemental coverage, then the Emergency Medical Evacuation Insurance will work for you. This is designed to offer emergency medical evacuation, repatriation of mortal remains, accidental death and dismemberment, and other incidental coverage and services for persons traveling outside their home country.  It is offered in 3, 6 and 12 month coverage periods and immediate coverage is available.
