Saint Mary's College of California recommends the Student Secure or Atlas Travel Plan as a health insurance option for students and their dependents on OPT and STEM. The Student Secure plan offers coverage for F-1 or J-1 visa holders, only. While students and their dependents are eligible for the Atlas Travel plan. These plans provide comprehensive coverage at reasonable rates. Each student who is outside their home country should purchase coverage for the entire duration of their stay in the event they have an accident or illness.

Pre-existing Conditions (Acute Onset)
Only charges resulting from an Acute Onset of a Pre-existing Condition can be eligible for coverage. Coverage is for those under age 80 and is up to the policy maximum of the plan. For Emergency Medical Evacuation, an Acute Onset of a Pre-existing Condition is covered up to a $25,000 lifetime maximum.
