With the new school semester right upon us, students are doing everything they need in order to register for classes. Insurance is just one component that most schools require, and you will need to either purchase your school’s insurance plan or show that you have comparable coverage.

The Student Secure plan will meet most school requirements (you can check to see if we meet your insurance requirements on the School Requirements section of our website) and is usually more affordable - typically saving you money while providing comprehensive coverage. If your school requires you to complete a waiver form - we will help you get this completed:

In the event you get sick or injured and need to seek medical care, there are a few steps you can take to make sure you are treated quickly and without any hassles. Your insurance plan with ISI includes an optional provider network. If treatment is sought within that network, most providers will send the bills directly for processing, allowing you to avoid paying out of pocket. Here are a few steps to follow:

Urgent Care Clinics - In the USA, urgent care clinics are the best place to seek treatment as an international student. You do not need an appointment, and can just show up for immediate care.

Bring your ID Card - Without your insurance ID card, providers will bill you directly. ALWAYS remember to bring and present your insurance ID card when receiving any treatment.

Online Provider Search - Spend a few minutes now and locate an urgent care clinic that is near you and part of the plan network. Write this down and keep this information with you. When you are sick, the last thing you’ll want to do is spend time trying to locate a provider!
