Medical Evacuation and Repatriation Insurance
Medical evacuation and repatriation insurance is designed to provide additional coverage to plans that only offer limited benefits.
Medical evacuation and repatriation plans traditionally offer four core benefits, making them an ideal supplement to already existing health insurance coverage. Not only are the benefits of these plans necessary for travel outside of your home country, repatriation and evacuation coverage are often required for international students by their institutions and by many governments to obtain a variety of visas, such as the J1.
With this in mind, it is often more ideal to purchase a travel insurance plan, as they provide traditional health insurance coverage and come standard with these same core benefits. One such option, being the Travel Medical plan, provides great coverage to travelers and students alike, including doctor visits, hospitalizations, prescriptions, trip interruption and travel delay — all for less than the cost of the average emergency medical evacuation and repatriation plan.
If you already have a traditional health insurance plan in place, you may need only the benefits of Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation of Remains in order to meet requirements from your school or for your visa. With that being said, you can purchase a stand-alone Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation plan.
Our Emergency Evacuation plan, starting at just $56 for 3 months, offers these benefits and more, such as:
Emergency Medical Evacuation
Emergency Medical Evacuation provides you with transportation services in case you need to be evacuated to the nearest qualified medical facility, not necessarily to your home country. In some cases, the plan will bring you home once stabilized, but be sure to double check with your insurance plan.
Return of Mortal Remains/Repatriation of Remains
The Return or Repatriation of Remains benefit is designed to cover the costs associated with returning your body to your home country if you were to pass away.
Travel Assistance Services
Travel Assistance Services include coverage for emergency prescription replacement, translation assistance, lost document assistance and more. Keep in mind that these benefits are not monetary aids, but offer assistance services when you need them.
There are a number of different options available for purchase, one of the most affordable and most comprehensive being our Emergency Evacuation plan, which will provide coverage for all of these benefits and more.
